Concept Design for the Norwegian Tourist Port Town of Flåm
Biopolus completed a concept design for a BioMakery for the port village of Flåm. The design incorporates a beautiful greenhouse into a modern facility that treats wastewater using Biopolus MNR technology. The facility was designed with optional space for eco-tourism and community, in addition to an optional nutrient recovery solution module. The design makes use of the the current smelly underground septic tanks and uses them as equalization buffer tanks within the design, for an efficient, odor free solution for wastewater treatment. The design works to handle the huge seasonal flow variations, where winter flows can be less than 150 m3/day, while summer flows can be greater than 1,100 m3/day.
